THE RIGHTS OF WAY SUBCOMMITTEE
COASTAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT COUNCIL

DATE: June 24, 2008

TIME: 5:45 p.m.

PLACE: Narragansett Bay Commission Building, Providence RI

PRESENT: Paul Lemont, Chairman; Neill Gray, Member; Brian Goldman, Legal Counsel, Grover Fugate, Executive Director, and Kevin Cute, staff member.

AGENDA:

1. Daunis ROW, Barrington, RI – Legal Counsel and the Executive Director briefed the subcommittee on several pieces of correspondence they had received regarding the Town of Barrington’s desire to regulate parking hours at this CRMC designated ROW. The subcommittee felt that the hours being suggested needed to be examined further and directed Legal Counsel and Executive Director to correspond with the Town of Barrington advising them that the ROW subcommittee will hold a public hearing at a date to be determined to review the proposed restrictions on parking.

2. East Transit Street ROW, Providence, RI – The subcommittee received and update from Legal Counsel and Kevin Cute regarding the progress on completion of the construction associated with this previously designated ROW. The subcommittee asked that Legal Counsel and /or the Executive Director look into the issue of whether or not the ROW is being blocked by an adjacent property owner and if so to take initial enforcement actions.

3. Y-1 ROW, Middletown, RI – Legal Counsel advised the subcommittee that there had been a public event associated with the adoption of this ROW in Middletown and that there had been local press coverage of that event. Members Lemont and Grey had been present at that event as well.

There being no other new business to come before the Subcommittee, the meeting adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
