In accordance with notice to members of the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council’s Planning and Procedures subcommittee, a meeting of the subcommittee was held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the offices of the RICRMC, Stedman Government Center, 4808 Tower Hill Rd, Wakefield, RI.

Call to Order. Mr. Lemont called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

Mr. Lemont called for a motion to approve the minutes of the April 21, 2011 subcommittee meeting.

Item 4.A. – Ocean SAMP Chapter 8 Renewable and Other Offshore Development and Chapter 11 The Policies of the Ocean SAMP. G. Fugate explained how the OSAMP has received federal approval – the first in the nation for a marine spatial planning document – and how BOERME was late in comments for that approval. To address the BOERME comments, G. Fugate explained that coordination with NOAA was held over BOERME concerns and the resultant proposed revisions to these two chapters was deemed acceptable to all parties. G. Fugate stated that the revisions in each section are to provide for consistency between BOERMRE regulation changes and OSAMP application requirements.

ADJOURNMENT. Mr. Dawson, seconded by Mr. Lemont, moved to adjourn the subcommittee meeting. All voted in favor of the motion and the meeting was adjourned at 8:59 a.m.
