2016-11-053 MOORESFIELD OYSTER FARM, LLC -- Expand and maintain: an existing oyster farm by 3.0 acres. Hard clams and bay scallops are proposed to be grown as a supplement to the oyster crop. Located in Point Judith Pond, Narragansett, RI.

Applications requiring a Public Hearing for Special Exception Request and are before the Council for Decision:

2016-11-055 TOWN OF MIDDLETOWN -- Undertake the Third Beach Road Area reconstruction project. The work is being conducted to address routine flooding issues which occur along the lower portions of Third Beach Road and the “connector road” which runs between Sachuest Point Road and Third Beach Road and to improve sight distances and turning movements. Portions of these roadways will be elevated an average of 30 inches to account for future Sea Level Rise. The project requires a Special Exception to construct structural shoreline protection bordering wetlands abutting Type 1 waters associated with roadway side-slope protection and a variance to fill within 50 feet of the coastal feature for purposes of elevating the roadway. Variances are also required to stormwater (runoff) treatment standards associated with roadway filter strip/QPA slope and separation to ground water specifications. The nearby Navy Beach parking lot will be regraded and maintained at the existing elevation. Located at the Third Beach Road area, Plat 131, lots 2, 3, 7, & 10; Middletown, RI.
