Metro Bay SAMP and CRMC logos

The RI CRMC is looking for logo designs for Urban Coastal Greenways (UCG)/public access signage that will be used for redevelopment projects within the Metro Bay Special Area Management Plan (SAMP). Art students and others from each of the four represented cities are invited to submit designs, on disc, by December 15, 2006.

The first place winner will receive a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond; the second, third and fourth place winners will receive $500 savings bonds.

Criteria for design:

The logo design must:

  • Be easily identified as belonging to CRMC, Metro Bay SAMP and UCG
  • Clearly state that its purpose is for public access

The logo will be placed on signage used for all public access points throughout the UCG.

All designs, with the entrant’s name, home address and telephone number, should be submitted to the CRMC, attn: Laura Ricketson, R. I. Coastal Resources Management Council, Stedman Government Center, 4808 Tower Hill Rd., Suite 116, Wakefield, RI 02879 no later than 12/15/06.

Contest Rules

Only one (1) winner for each prize place.

Only one (1) contest entry per person.

All entries must be submitted on disc and must be in a common format which can be edited (PC – Adobe Pagemaker, Powerpoint, Word, Publisher, etc.).

All entries must be sent with the entrant’s information: name, home address, school (if applicable), phone number.

In order to be considered, entries must be received by CRMC no later than close of business on December 15th, 2006.

Entries will be judged by CRMC staff based on:

  • the usefulness of the information presented therein,
  • application to the Metro Bay SAMP and its UCG/public access component,
  • versatility of the information to be used in different locations within the UCG,
  • and user-friendliness.

Winners will be announced in November, and will receive formal notice from the CRMC.
Decisions made by the judges regarding each winner are final and binding.

If a winner cannot be reached after a reasonable amount of effort has been made to notify him or her of the prize, the winner forfeits rights to the winning prize.

The CRMC reserves the right to cancel the contest at any time, for lack of participation, etc. The CRMC also reserves the right to modify the contest rules at any time, including the extension of entry deadlines.

Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission to use winners’ name, city and winning entry for purposes associated with the CRMC, the Metro Bay SAMP and other informational purposes and CRMC publications, without further compensation.

The CRMC and its staff are not liable or responsible for: entries that do not follow guidelines; entries and responses to winner notifications that are illegible, incomplete, late, lost, mis-delivered, marked postage-due or undeliverable.
