CRMC to add QR stickers to ROW signs

April 15, 2024, WAKEFIELD — Learning more about public access to the shore just got easier! Starting this week, when you visit your favorite right-of-way to the shore, you’ll also be able to scan a QR code on it that will take you to the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council’s (CRMC) website page on public access and rights-of-way.

CRMC staff will begin work on adding the stickers to existing CRMC-designated ROW signs this week in the southern part of the state, and work will continue statewide until all CRMC ROW signs include the stickers. Clicking the scannable code will bring users to this webpage, which includes a link to the online map of all CRMC-designated ROWs to the shore, information about rights-of-way and the Public Trust in Rhode Island, annual reports and more information about CRMC’s larger efforts to improve public shoreline access in Rhode Island.

This task is part of a larger effort CRMC has undertaken since 2020 to improve its Public Access program, designate more rights-of-way to the shore, and ensure shoreline public access is available to all.
