BOEM Convenes Public Meetings on the Offshore Wind Development Process

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will hold a public informational meeting in Narragansett, R.I., on Monday, July 16, 2012. The purpose of the meeting is to receive public comment on BOEM’s Environmental Assessment for the potential development of offshore wind energy projects in the Rhode Island/Massachusetts Wind Energy Area and discuss next steps in the BOEM leasing process. The Environmental Assessment was released for public review and comment on July 2, 1012. The session will include presentations from BOEM officials followed by a public comment period.
WHAT: Public information session to provide an overview of the EA and next steps in the leasing process. In addition to accepting comments on the EA, BOEM officials will address questions on the environmental and leasing processes as time permits.
