Public workshop 3/7/13

DRAFT Experimental Coastal Erosion Control rules for Matunuck and Misquamicut areas. Working draft for public review. CRMC has scheduled a public workshop for March 7 starting at 3:00pm at the URI Coastal Institute Auditorium. (PDF)

The RI Coastal Resources Management Council will be holding a public workshop to be held on March 7 at 3:00pm at the Coastal Institute Auditorium on the URI Bay campus in Narragansett. Click here for directions: http://www.gso.uri.edu/about-gso/directions Back in October, the CRMC posted on its website proposed draft policy and regulations concerning experimental coastal erosion control methods. Experimental methods would be permissible for use on specific segments of the Matunuck and Misquamicut shorelines in South Kingstown and Westerly, respectively.

The CRMC invites the affected property owners, town and state officials and interested parties to attend the public workshop and provide input on the proposed draft rules. The CRMC will take any feedback provided during the public workshop into consideration and will make changes to the draft accordingly. The March 7 public workshop will precede any formal rule-making process, including public notice and a public hearing, for adoption by the Council at a later date.
