...to preserve, protect, develop, and restore coastal resources for all Rhode Islanders
SAVE THE DATE: Ocean SAMP Five-Year Achievements - Come Celebrate with Us!
Join the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) and the University of Rhode Island (URI) for this special stakeholder meeting to celebrate the past five years of the Rhode Island Ocean Special Area Management Plan (Ocean SAMP).
This is an opportunity to be updated on the latest Ocean SAMP news, from information about the Block Island wind farm pilot project (Aileen Kenney/Deepwater Wind), to research about birds, lobsters and underwater archeology (Drs. Peter Paton, Jeremy Collie, John King/URI), to the effort to ensure that the Ocean SAMP contributes to the regional effort to protect and enhance ocean resources (Grover Fugate/CRMC and John Weber/Northeast Regional Ocean Council).
The Ocean SAMP is CRMC's chief regulatory document for managing the uses and resources of Rhode Island's offshore waters. This meeting is being facilitated by the URI Coastal Resources Center and Rhode Island Sea Grant.
This celebratory event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 5 - 8 p.m., University of Rhode Island Bay Campus (Hazard Rms. A & B), Narragansett, RI.
Pizza and cake will be served -- please RSVP now to oceansamp@gso.uri.edu or call (401) 874-6107 for information.
We look forward to seeing you at this special anniversary event for the Ocean SAMP! See more about the SAMP at http://seagrant.gso.uri.edu/oceansamp/
