The Bay Informed Discussion Series returns Thursday, January 18th, at 7 p.m. in Corless Auditorium on the URI Narragansett Bay Campus. Presenters Melissa Hoffman and Conor McManus will be speaking about the Southern New England Lobster industry and the impacts of shellfish disease as well as quahog management in RI. Many of us are familiar with Rhode Island’s rich shellfishing history, but do you want to know more about the latest research and management efforts to ensure a sustainable future? Join the Bay Informed Discussion Series Thursday, January 18th to hear from scientists studying lobsters and quahogs off of our coast! These experts will talk about the work being done to understand challenges, like shell disease, facing the Southern New England lobster fishery and how quahog populations are monitored throughout the state. All ages welcome!
