New CRMC Freshwater Wetlands Rules – Effective July 1, 2022
The CRMC has promulgated new Rules and Regulations Governing the Protection and Management of Freshwater Wetlands in the Vicinity of the Coast (650-RICR-20-00-9) that will be in effect on July 1, 2022. To support the transition to the new rules, RIDEM in collaboration with the RI Coastal Resources Management Council has posted guidance documents and other help links here: http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/water/permits/pn-wetland-guidance.php#guidance.
An online mapping tool “Interactive Map of Freshwater Wetland Buffer Regions” is available to assist applicants in determining the buffer zone applicable to their specific project location.
