Revolution Wind Export Cable Installation in RI State Waters
Revolution Wind export cable lay, and installation activities are expected to begin in Rhode Island state waters in early November 2024. The nearshore export cable pre-lay work is being conducted from Quonset to Dutch Island. The SHELIA BORDELON has begun route clearance from Dutch Island to federal waters. Cable laying vessel AURORA and cable trenching vessel DEEP CYENUS are installing export cables.
The seven-day outlook anticipates the AURORA laying mid-shore cable from offshore (KP44) to Dutch Island. Crews will operate 24/7 barring adverse weather conditions.
Revolution Wind will employ a method of laying cable with one vessel, and another will follow behind and bury the cable.
